Wine to Watch: ColleMassari Montecucco Rosso Riserva DOC

This is a wonderful ruby-red, full-bodied wine from Castello ColleMassari located in the scenic Montecucco wine region of Tuscany, Italy. Montecucco is located next to the famous wine region Montalcino.

The two primary grape varieties that grow in Montecucco are Sangiovese for red wines and Vermentino for white wines. The Montecucco wine region is regarded as a quiet gem for its Sangiovese-based red wines that owe their flavour to the area’s warm and humid climate that helps the grapes to mature well.
